After more than eight years away from the role, and more than a few disappointments in the almost-sequel column, Thomas Jane has returned to The Punisher in the form of a fan-fiction style short shown at Comic-Con.

Coming in at just over ten minutes long, and starring Jane alongside Ron Perlman, this is any comic fan’s dream.
This isn’t an official film of any kind, and has no link to any existing projects. Jane posted on Twitter “Not pushing anything. Just a fan film from Friends of Frank”.
Not for the faint of heart, the short certainly captures the brutal nature of the character and Jane is perfect casting.
Mortal Kombat has already shown us that web series based on fan-fiction can work, but whether this gets picked up, only time will tell.
