When I’m traveling, I love visiting a place that allows me to understand not just the culture through its people, food and community, but the history behind its buildings, architecture, and roads. I love being drawn into communities and people through their history because there is so much to know. Since we are the sum of all the events that have taken place in life, history is so important to recognize because it shapes the way we view our present and decide upon our future.
Every summer, I’ve had the honor of visiting the city of Indianapolis in the beautiful state of Indiana. As a Hoosier at heart, it is by far one of my favorite places in the United States. Through each visit to the “Crossroads of America”, I’ve found myself smitten with the city and its people because of their genuine warmth. That being said, there is so much to be enamored with history-wise when taking walks down the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, The Central Canal, Lockerbie Square or even driving down historic Meridian Street. The city and its greater surrounding area is rich with arts and entertainment, extremely green, cultured with familial values, and a hub for fun. It really is the coolest, most awesome city and one that I love taking in every visit!
