‘Sweet Hearts’ — A Playlist for Valentine’s Day

Conversation hearts are a staple of Valentine’s Day confections. This year, Sweethearts celebrates 150 years of those sugary sweet, pastel colored, and heart-shaped candies stamped with fun, friendly, and flirty statements. If you’re not one for long declarations of love, candy hearts are a way to say more with less (while putting sweet words in your sweetheart’s mouth).

In honor of the most romantic day of the year, here’s a music mix inspired by popular conversation heart phrases. The playlist includes old classics (Elvis Presley’s “Love Me” and Paul Anka’s “Puppy Love”) and new favorites (Beyonce’s “XO” and Kelly Clarkson’s “You Love Me”), songs from singer-songwriter ladies (Adele’s “Crazy For You” and Sara Bareilles’ “I Choose You”) and tracks from talented troubadours (Amos Lee’s “Sweet Pea” and Ed Sheeran’s “Kiss Me”), and even a duet from real-life couple, Alex & Sierra (“I Love You”). All in all, the message in these selected songs is clear – love is all around us!

xoxo, sweet pea!
