J.K. Rowling’s imaginative universe of witchcraft, wizardry, fantastic beasts, enchanted objects, and spellbinding adventures comes to life in the muggle realm at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. In April, my friend Zoey and I checked out the opening weekend of the new theme park expansion at Universal Studios Hollywood to explore the rides and attractions that allow fans to immerse themselves in and interact with the story of Harry Potter through a full sensory experience.
In the Forbidden Journey 3D ride, you can fly broomstick by broomstick with Harry as you soar around the grounds of the Hogwarts castle. In the Flight of the Hippogriff roller-coaster ride, you can say hello to an animatronic Buckbeak as you zip above Hagrid’s Hut for a great aerial view of the theme park. At the village of Hogsmeade, visitors wander, shop, dine, and drink just as the students of Hogwarts did by stocking up on Bertie Bott’s Every Flavoured Beans and other sugary candies at Honeydukes, selecting a wand at Ollivanders, and grabbing a glass of Butterbeer with English grub at the Three Broomsticks tavern.
For a glimpse into this wonderful wizarding world, here are some of my photos from my day trip to the stomping grounds of the Boy Who Lived. Something magical this way comes…
