Jonesing For Leslie
Who you gonna call? Christian Siriano, according to Leslie Jones! This month, Jones was set to make her red carpet debut at the premiere of her new film, Ghostbusters. Ahead of the screening, Jones took to Twitter to express her disappointment over the lack of offers that came in to dress her for the event. But it wasn’t long before one designer threw his name in the hat. Christian Siriano (who originally came to the fashion spotlight after winning Project Runway) tweeted to Jones offering his services. Siriano has dressed many stars including Mad Men’s Christina Hendrix, and First Lady Michelle Obama. While things were starting to look up for Jones, Twitter was quick to put a halt the positivity to a halt. Jones found herself on the receiving end of many nasty, racist, and sexist tweets shortly after the launch of the film, and she wasted no time in calling them out. During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the Saturday Night Live cast member explained this happens to everyone in the business, consistently, and she wants to make sure the harassment stops. Jones also recounted a meeting with Twitter CEO “Jack” about removing these accounts from the social media site. She told Meyers, “If I hadn’t said anything, nobody would have ever known about this. All those people still would have an account.”

Kimye Are At It Again
While 2015 might have been “The Year of Taylor Swift,” 2016 is strikingly less complementary. After the latest chapter in the Taylor Swift/Kanye West saga, Kim Kardashian West says she has had enough. Kardashian West claimed in an interview with GQ that she had video proof of Swift approving West’s song, ‘Famous’. And what better time to release the footage than the debut of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians episode in which she discusses the ongoing feud with the magazine? Kardashian West released clips of said video footage on her Snapchat account in which viewers watch as West lists out lyrics to the now-controversial song while Swift gives her seal of approval. For the most part, that is. While Swift admits she did approve of some of the lyrics, she did not have any intention of approving West describing her as “that b—h” in the song. She went on to say she never actually heard the song, even after West told her she would hear the tune before it was released. Most recently, West took the stage at Drake’s Chicago concert where he once again called attention to the feud. “All I gotta say is I am so glad my wife has Snapchat. ‘Cos now y’all can know the truth. And ain’t no-one can talk s—t about Ye no more!” The rapper said to the crowd. It looks like it’s your turn again, Taylor.

Lady Gaga Goes Solo
Some sad news for Lady Gaga and her Little Monsters this month. Gaga and her long-time boyfriend-turned-fiancé, Taylor Kinney, split this month according to sources. The pair have been together for five years, and got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2015. The breakup came as a shock to many, including Gaga herself, so says the source to Us Weekly. Don’t get too down though, there’s hope yet! It’s being called a “temporary” split, although taking time off of a relationship certainly hasn’t been easy. Since the announcement, Gaga put on a surprise performance at the Rose Bar in New York where she sang of love, and of course, heartbreak. We wish these two nothing but the best!

With Love From Aniston
Jennifer Aniston is known as many things: America’s Sweetheart, actress, activist, health enthusiast. And while she’s perfectly content with all of those titles, she’s not so fond of others. Aniston wrote in an op-ed piece on The Huffington Post website this month regarding her frustration with the media and people asking if she’s pregnant, saying she’s gained weight, and overall giving way too much input into her appearance and personal life. “For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up. I’m fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of ‘journalism,’ the ‘First Amendment’ and ‘celebrity news.’” The Friends actress went on to describe her disappointment of the constant (negative) media attention she faces. “If I am some kind of symbol to some people out there, then clearly I am an example of the lens through which we, as a society, view our mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, female friends and colleagues. The objectification and scrutiny we put women through is absurd and disturbing.” And to that, we say job well done, Ms. Aniston!

Bachelorette Brotherly Love
The Bachelorette finale is only a few days away, and this season is making more headlines for what goes on outside the show, rather than on screen. This season’s Bachelorette, JoJo Fletcher, has narrowed her search for Mr. Right down to Robby Hayes and Jordan Rodgers. For those who don’t watch the show, or know much about NFL Football, Jordan Rodgers is the brother to Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. And based on what we have seen this season, it doesn’t seem like there is much comradery shared between the brothers. Earlier in the season, Jordan admitted to Fletcher that he and his brother are not very close as Aaron has chosen to distance himself from the family. Aaron was asked about his strained relationship with his brother just last week, and was very careful with his choice of words. He said, “I’ve always found that it’s a little inappropriate to talk publicly about some family matters, so I’m just — I’m not going to speak on those things, but I wish him well in the competition.” So, if Fletcher chooses Jordan, it lokos like we may not see Aaron and his girlfriend, Olivia Munn, at the event. The finale of The Bachelorette starts at 8 PM Monday, August 1 on ABC.
