Baby, We’re Perfect

Let’s kick things off on a high note. This month, One Direction member, Liam Payne, and girlfriend Cheryl Cole stepped out to support the Fayre of St. James’ charity event in London, but it was Cole’s noticeable bump that had tongues wagging. Cole was photographed sporting what appears to be a baby bump after months of speculation that she and her 23-year-old beau were expecting their first child together. Cole, donning an olive green sweater dress, trench coat, and studded clutch was all smiles with the “Perfect” singer. Payne, wearing Chelsea boots, a double-breasted trench, and black skinny jeans, looked adoringly at his 33-year-old partner while they posed for pictures on the red carpet. Payne and Cole met in 2008 during his first audition for the British-based reality television singing show, The X Factor. Cole served as a judge and mentor for Payne during his second run on the program, where he was place alongside his would-be-future bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and ex-One Direction member, Zayn Malik. If the rumors hold true, Payne will be the second 1D member to become a father, following in Tomlinson’s footsteps, who welcomed son Freddie Reign Tomlinson in January 2016. A (possible) congratulations to the happy couple!

West Wing

On a slightly more serious note, rapper Kanye West was hospitalized this month after cancelling his Saint Pablo Tour. The rapper admitted himself in a Los Angeles-based hospital in November due to “exhaustion and sleep deprivation.” The tour’s cancellation and the controversial star’s hospitalization comes on the heels of his most recent tirades. During a show stop in Sacramento, CA, West made remarks about fellow music stars Beyoncé and Jay-Z. West’s comments were caught on camera where the “Famous” rapper could be heard saying, “Beyoncé, I was hurt ‘cos heard that you said you wouldn’t perform unless you won Video of the Year over me and over ‘Hotline Bling.'” These statements, which irked many of his devoted fans, were made moments before he ended his show early and walked off stage. West pushed some of his fans over the edge earlier in the month when his show in San Jose turned political with him claiming he didn’t vote, but if he had, he “would have voted for Trump.” Since his recent rants and hospitalization, many are reportedly concerned about the mental state of the rapper. So far, there has been no official comment from West’s wife, Kim Kardashian West. We wish the rapper and his family the best.

American Music Awards

The 2016 American Music Awards aired this month, and brought a slew of talking points with it. Hosts Gigi Hadid and Jay Pharoah found themselves in a mix of hot and cold water after the pair made impressions of President-elect Donald Trump and future First Lady Melania. Hadid’s impression received enough backlash for the 21-year-old model to post an apology to her Twitter and Instagram accounts, saying the impression had good intentions and was all in good humor. Meanwhile, the show went on with plenty of hot performances from One Direction’s Niall Horan, Fifth Harmony, James Bay, Bruno Mars, Green Day, and many more. The show also included an emotional acceptance speech from Selena Gomez, marking her first major public appearance since taking time out of the spotlight to focus on her mental and physical health. Gomez, who won the award for Favorite Female Artist Pop/Rock, got teary-eyed during her speech saying, “I had to stop, ’cause I had everything, and I was absolutely broken inside. And I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down. I’m not trying to get validation, nor do I need it anymore.” Congratulations to the winners, performers, and nominees!

Goodbye, Mrs. Brady

This month’s “Roundup” ends with some sad news from Hollywood. Television icon and America’s favorite mom, Florence Henderson passed away at 82 years old on Thanksgiving, November 24. The news came as a shock to many, as Henderson was showing no signs of poor health and even attended a taping of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars earlier on that week. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight’s Nancy O’Dell, Henderson’s fellow Brady Bunch alum, Maureen McCormick held back tears while remembering the iconic actress. “She was an incredible example of how to life your life,” McCormick said. Rest in peace, Mrs. Brady, you will be dearly missed.

That’s all we have time for today, but make sure to tune in next month for another compilation of major entertainment news headlines straight from the West Coast! For more stories like these, check us out on Twitter and Facebook!
