Welcome back, Superfans! This week we get a break from Reign’s, well, reign of terror and instead focus on another foe: Morgan Edge. As always there are spoilers from last night’s episode so read on only if you truly want to know!
We start off with Kara waking up from a nightmare in which she sees Reign, the Worldkiller we saw at the end of last week’s episode, and another one whose face is obscured. She tells Winn and J’onn about it at the DEO and Mon-El reminds everyone that while the Worldkillers are from Kyrpton, they were also genetically modified and won’t be just like Kara. Meanwhile, Alex is helping Sam by running an MRI to, hopefully, figure out what is wrong with her.
Out in National City, James and Lena are chatting about planning a date when they encounter Morgan Edge. Per the always, he’s a jerk and Lena tells him to burn in hell before he drives off. While driving, his car suddenly starts doing its own thing as it appears his car has been hacked. Morgan manages to crawl through his car and out of the trunk before his car crashes and explodes. A furious and battered Morgan bursts into CatCo and accuses Lena of the attack and warns her that he never loses. Morgan is removed and banned. Bye.
Sam’s MRI shows nothing wrong. Alex says that she will send the images to a specialist along with a blood sample and while Alex draws her blood, Sam talks about regretting lying to Lena about the situation. Alex convinces her to talk to Lena and Kara about things.
Back at CatCo, Lena is brought a cup of coffee but right after she takes a drink she starts convulsing and foaming at the mouth, having been poisoned. James goes after the coffee cart and the person fleeing it while Kara flies Lena to the DEO. Lena has been poisoned with cyanide and Kara uses her freeze breath to help save her.
Morgan is out and about walking to a different car of his and is approached by Guardian. Morgan denies being involved with Lena’s poisoning, Guardian doesn’t buy it.
Lena wakes up at CatCo and says she dreamed that Kara flew her somewhere. Kara and James convince her that this is a side effect of having been poisoned. James also says that the guy he chased who also was shot, appears to have been shot by cutting edge tech that L-Corp had prevously been developing. Lena goes to investigate and runs into her mother, waiting for her. You see, Lillian Luthor killed the hitman who poisoned Lena. She’d like for Lena to become a real Luthor, and she also plans to kill Morgan. Lena does not agree so she goes back to CatCo where she runs into Alex and Sam. Sam opens up about her problems and says she worries about dying without Ruby having anyone to support and care for her. Kara, Lena, and Alex all step up.
Later, Lena confesses to Kara that she tried to kill Morgan once and then tells Kara about Lillian. Lena asks Kara’s help in saving Morgan so the pair go to Morgan’s gala. Lena tries to get him to confess that he was the one who tried to kill Lena as well as for his other crimes, but then Lillian’s drones start shooting at him. Morgan, freaked out, admits to it all.
Lillian then show sup in person and is not happy Lena didn’t let her kill Morgan. Lillian then busts out the Lexosuit of armor. Mon-El shows up and fights alongside Supergirl. Morgan takes Lena’s recording device and makes off with it, Lena giving chase but Guardian stops him. Lena gets the device back, Mon-El and Kara stop Lillian and both the bad guys are taken away.
Later, all of Sam’s tests come back okay but Sam is still concerned. Lena tells Sam to go home and spend time with Ruby while at the DEO Mon-EL continues to make things weird by having a pep talk with Kara about how great they are as a team and how he is really trying to be a good person like Kara taught him. Winn then tells the pair that he has found leads on Worldkillers and Kara recognizes one named Julia Freeman from her nightmare.
Next week? ALL THE WORLDKILLERS. See you then!
