5 Movies You Need to Watch This April

With the temperatures rising across the country, that means only one thing: Summer movie season is around the corner. But while summer blockbusters are hotly anticipated with audiences looking forward to May bringing out the best, April is a good month for batting practice at the movies, serving as a precursor to the very best 2018 has to offer.

From a horror sleeper hit creeping in early to a showdown between the galaxies with superheroes at the forefront, April is setting itself up for an incredible month of movies to watch. To get you up to speed and keep you on your toes this spring, we share five movies you have to watch this April.

A Quiet Place

In what is being called this season’s sleeper hit, A Quiet Place is the movie to watch this month. Starring real-life sweethearts, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, who also serves as the film’s director, star in this supernatural thriller about a family who must remain quiet to avoid an unknown threat that attacks at any sound.

Rampage

Releases:  April 13, 2018

Leave it to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to save the world from a gentle ape turned into a raging creature of an enormous size after a rogue genetic experiment goes awry. As the newly created monsters tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Johnson teams up with a genetic engineer to secure an antidote and save his ape friend.

Super Troopers 2

Releases: April 20

Back by popular demand, the beloved law enforcement team is back with their much anticipated follow-up to the cult comedy classic this spring. The LEOs are back to their old shenanigans when a border dispute erupts between Canada and the U.S., with the officers setting up a new Highway Patrol station in the area.

I Feel Pretty

Releases: April 27

It’s no secret that women all over the world are bombarded with images of perfection and struggle with feelings of insecurity, but Amy Schumer‘s newest feature embraces that very ideal in the funniest, sexiest way. Co-starring Michelle Williams and brought from the writing team behind Never Been Kissed, the comedian turns into the most fearless and confident woman on the planet after a freak accident takes place.

Avengers: Infinity War

Releases: April 27

War is coming, but you don’t really need to worry because the Avengers (including, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, et al.) and their Super Hero allies are strapping into their spandex and are down for a challenge. Releasing at the end of the month, the film is definitely going to kick off blockbuster season with a bang as the Marvel heroes attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before he unleashes his reign of terror and puts an end to the universe.
