Entertainment Roundup: What Happened in April

April has come and gone, and it certainly offered plenty to talk about from Hollywood. New babies, a few splits, and even the loss of some famous faces occurred this month. Here’s what in April…

This month, it was announced that a few well-known and loved couples would no longer be “consciously coupling.” The most surprising split came very early on in the month when Jenna Dewan Tatum and Channing Tatum announced their split after nine years of marriage. The pair share one child, a daughter named Everly who turns 5 next month. Another famous couple that split in April, Hank Baskett and Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett. The two have had a tumultuous relationship, as seen on their former E! Network show, Kendra On Top. The couple has been together for close to ten years, and share two children, son Hank IV, 8, and daughter Alijah Mary, 3.

While April saw its low points, it also saw plenty of happy moments when celeb couples welcomed new bundles of joy to the world! This month, a slew of actresses, rappers, and reality stars alike either gave birth, or announced they’re expecting. First up, Kate Hudson shared she is currently expecting her third child, a daughter, which will be the third child for the actress. She currently has two sons with ex-fiance, Matt Bellamy. Also on the docket to bring a new baby into the world, rapper Cardi B! The Bodak Yellow artist put whispering lips to rest when she performed on Saturday Night Live this month, and showcased her growing bump! This will be her first child, whom is fathered by Migos rapper, Offset.

Additionally, Rachel McAdams gave birth to her first child this month, a boy, and is reportedly doing just fine with her newest addition to the family! Finally, Khloe Kardashian brought her little girl, True Thompson, to the world this month, after footage emerged of her beau, Cleveland Cavaliers player Tristan Thompson, allegedly cheating on the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star. Kardashian is said to be doing well, and has the support of her family through this both magical and difficult time.

In the saddest news from Hollywood this month, we lost a few talented individuals in April. The most surprising came when it was revealed EDM DJ, Avicii, was found dead in Muscat, Oman, due to an apparent suicide. The Swedish music artist had previously had health issues, and even stepped away from the spotlight in 2016 to focus on getting well. He was only 28. Another life lost this month was actor Verne Troyer of the Austin Powers franchise died this month after emergency responders reported to his Los Angeles home. He was 49 years old. No cause of death has been given at this time. Both Verne and Avicii will be missed.
