As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, it’s time to set aside our favorite hot beverages and leap into some cooler menu options.

Starting May 1, Starbucks is embracing the fun, sunshine months by adding two new Frappuccinos that promise to get your tastebuds blazing. In a press release from the Seattle-based company, the new layered beverages, the Ultra Caramel Frappuccino and Triple Mocha Frappuccino, will join its original variants in the official menu.

Both dessert-styled drinks are pumped with layers of whipped cream, new sauces and to get you going throughout the day, an extra shot of caffeine. Additionally, both drinks feature a new delicious “cold brew whipped cream” topping that can be served with any cold or hot drink for 50 cents.

Since its May debut, fans of Starbucks have been taking to social media to share their thoughts about the Ultra Caramel Frappuccinos, with many patrons in love with the flavor combinations.

For those interested in the Ultra Caramel, fans can expect a rich blended Frappuccino that includes the new whipped cream, accented with dark caramel sauce, then layered with a dark caramel coffee Frappuccino made with dark caramel sauce, signature roast coffee and milk, blended with ice. If that doesn’t sound good enough, the handcrafted beverage is then topped with another layer of sweet cold brew whipped cream and a swirl of smoky dark caramel drizzle.

Debbie Antonio, the senior manager for Starbucks R&D says right away, Starbucks customers will taste something “different” thanks to the new cold brew whipped cream.

“Sip after sip, you get the blended coffee and the lighter whip with the dark caramel threaded all the way through,” Antonio said.

As for the Triple Mocha Frappuccino, Antonio says it brings the magic of mocha in every sip.

“You get both white chocolate and rich dark mocha, layered with cold brew whipped cream for contrast, texture,” she said of the blended beverage that begins with a layer of Sweet Cold Brew Whipped Cream topped with a layer of dark mocha sauce, at the bottom of the cup.

Additionally, the Triple Mocha Frappuccino is made with a rich mocha sauce, Frappuccino Roast coffee and milk blended with ice, followed by a final layer of sweet cold brew whipped cream and a swirl of dark mocha drizzle.
