On any blissful summer’s day, a smooth, cold, velvety ice cream is a real treat. Whether you enjoy it in a bowl, cup or cone filled with your favorite flavor, July is one of the more cooler months thanks to this lovable dessert.

For those not keeping track, every third Sunday since 1984 has been declared by former President Ronald Regan as National Ice Cream Day. While it might not be an official holiday that has us taking a day off from work, it is one that should be wholeheartedly celebrated with family, friends and coworkers.

Of course, one of the proper ways to enjoy such a delicious faux holiday is with BOGO offers and freebies, so it’s time to throw on your classiest pair of sweatpants and feast on America’s favorite dessert. With these great United States full of places to give coneheads alike their frosty fix, we share the scoop on all the places that have your needs covered on this cool Sunday.

Baskin Robbins

Of course, Baskin Robbins is celebrating ice cream all month long, but on July 14, customers can get free samples of its Mint Chocolate Chip Polar Pizza. Those who have the mobile app downloaded are eligible for exclusive offers on National Ice Cream Day, along with deals throughout the year. As if that wasn’t blissful enough, they are offering regular and kiddie-sized scoops for $1.50 on July 31.

Cold Stone Creamery

For those hoping to get a free scoop of ice cream on National Ice Cream Day, Cold Stone Creamery offers customers to sign up for the My Cold Stone Club Rewards to get a “buy one, get one” free creation coupon.

Dairy Queen

Reigning supreme with its cool treats, Dairy Queen lets its Blizzard Fan Club members get an ice cream coupon for a buy one, get one free Blizzard, and those heading to its fan food franchise after 8 p.m. can also get any two medium dipped cones or sundaes for only $4.

Sub Zero Ice Cream

On Sunday, customers heading to the liquid nitrogen ice cream cafe between the hours of 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. local time can get a buy one, get one deal on their sensational flavors.

Carvel

A day after National Ice Cream Day, patrons of the Atlanta-based chain can get one free ice cream cone or cup of any size with the purchase of another cone or cup.

Dippin’ Dots

For those visiting Dippin’ Dots stores this Sunday, customers will get one free mini cup of the futuristic ice cream.

Marble Slab Creamery

Celebrating National Ice Cream Day all month long, Marble Slab is offering guests $2 off their purchase at participating locations. Customers who have downloaded the Slab Happy Rewards app are also eligible to receive a free ice cream coupon upon joining its reward program, which offers cool treats for your birthday.

McDonald’s

On Sunday, fans of the Golden Arches will get a free soft-serve ice cream cones on the condition that they have downloaded the McDonald’s mobile app.

Steak ‘n Shake

While they are famous for their steak-burgers, the Illinois-based burger house offers a delicious menu of hand-dipped milkshakes made with real ice cream. Customers can get a free regular size strawberry cheesecake milkshake or Kit Kat milkshake with the purchase of another. Be sure to print out the coupons to take full advantage of the offer!
