5 Mistakes That Could Ruin Your Fantasy Football Draft

Which one gets you more excited? Cheering on your favorite football team, or cheering on your fantasy football team? Be honest, when you realized that there was only a few weeks until the opening kickoff of the NFL regular season, the first thing you did was check with your buddies to see when your fantasy draft was happening.

Not Perfect: When Being “Made for Each other” Might Wreck Your Relationship

Love is complicated, but we all know what we want. We want that person who just gets us, who we feel is “the one,” our soul mate, or who just “completes” us. That’s the ideal and it is for many what we go looking for in the world of relationships. But what if the idea of being made for one another, that concept of soul mate and perfect match, might actually ruin or damage your relationship? What if perfection is, in fact, the problem?

SYTYCD11: Shaking the Top 8 Shocker

For as long as I’ve watched SYTYCD, I’ve had to brace myself for Top 8 week. It’s a time when half the remaining dancers are in danger and so, anything could happen. One routine that isn’t well-received could spell the end for an otherwise great dancer. Such was the case for the now-dynamic all-star, Allison […]

A Weekend on the Beaches of Pawleys Island

About a half hour away from Myrtle Beach is the city of Pawleys Island, South Carolina. It boast golf courses, great homey restaurants and of course, plenty of white sandy beaches. I visited Pawleys Island for a bachelor party earlier this summer and had a chance to relax at a private house that let out onto Litchfield Beach.

SYTYCD11: With the All-Stars, Come New Stars

After last week’s shocking elimination, I knew that the only thing that could make it right this week would be some stellar dancing. The night opened with an interesting “Neon Cowboy” routine (as Nigel dubbed it) set to the fresh-off-the-press Nicki Minaj + Jessie J + Ariana Grande collab “Bang Bang”. While the routine was […]

Hooked on a Feeling: Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel Studios has built a reputation for themselves over the past few years for making entertaining, high quality, blockbuster films based on their beloved, long-running comic book characters. Films like the Iron Man, Captain America, and Avengers franchises have restored careers (like Robert Downey, Jr.’s) as well as skyrocketed others to fame. The films, collectively called the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has also inspired a new interest in superheroes and comics on the whole. It’s a great time to be a geek.

From Indy With Love

Every summer, I’ve had the honor of visiting the city of Indianapolis in the beautiful state of Indiana. As a Hoosier at heart, it is by far one of my favorite places in the United States.

One Man’s Journey to the South Pacific

Throughout a 4-week period of time, I was fortunate enough to go on the adventure of a lifetime in the South Pacific. I spent time in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines, mostly exploring the beauty of the world and the wonderful people who live in it. These photos were not meant to be a cohesive inspiration, but rather a collection of sightings that may have caught my eye.

At the Movies: Etiquette for the Movie Goer

The summer movie season is in full swing but a disturbing trend is occurring at theaters across the country: movie patrons are forgetting, or just plain ignoring, the common courtesies involved a night at the movies. The energy on the opening night of a big premiere is like nothing else but a few small factors can add up to a bad time if left unchecked. Here are few suggestions to preserve the experience for everyone:

SYTYCD11: Double Eliminations Are Twice As Hard

Oof. If you just finished watching the show like I did, you know that tonight’s cuts were not easy. Double eliminations, over the course of SYTYCD history have been known for being extra bad because, somehow, some really promising talent gets swept under the rug and tonight… well, I won’t spoil it.

LUCY: What were they thinking?!

The “ten-percent of brain” myth states that human beings use only ten percent of their total mental capacity. This belief also states that if humans could access more of their mental capacity, it increase mankind’s intelligence.

The Best Recipes for Summer

We are about to enter the last full month of Summer which means if you haven’t gotten your fair share of endless days outside, lazy days on the beach, and addicting summer food it’s time to start taking advantage of the weekends and making plans. Being as obsessed with food as I am, my main concern is being sure that I take full advantage of all the foods that tend to be linked with this weather.

Memes: A Viscous Definition

I’m the type of person who observes a lot. Or I try to. But when I do so, I often times hear Andre the Giant in the back of my head pointing at people and saying “I don’t think that means what you think it means.” For instance, I follow a Bill Hader appreciation blog on Tumblr, and the blogger was putting together GIF collages of different SNL cast members and titling the post things like “Kristen Wig Meme 1/14”, and it got me thinking, that that’s not what my definition of meme is.
