The weather might not be any cooler, but I can assure you that summer is, in fact, ending and that means so is August, so it’s time to talk about what you might have missed on your Idol radar this month:
New Music
On the new music front, Season 14 winner Nick Fradiani‘s new album “Hurricane” was finally released on August 5, 2016. The album features his Idol winner’s single “Beautiful Life” and Fradiani himself wrote and even produced some of the songs on the album, so it’s sure to have his infectious brand of acoustic alternative pop-rock scattered through the albums dozen tracks. The album is available on iTunes and Google Play.

Also joining the music scene with a full-length album of her own is Season 15 alum Avalon Young. Young treated fans to two catchy urban singles “What’s Real” and “Favorite” before unveiling the news that her full length album, titled “SHIFT” would be coming out August 30. If you haven’t check it out yet, I highly recommend it. It’s available on iTunes and Spotify. Young’s style is so refreshing and different compared to the current music scene and definitely might offer a glimpse of the kind of contestant Idol might see if it ever returns to our television screens.
Season 7 alum David Hernandez also released an inspiring song called “Beautiful” (available on iTunes) complete with a video that features people from all walks of life learning to accept themselves just as they are. Now that’s using your talent for good. Way to good, David!
Phillip Phillips has also been posting on his Instagram that he’s wrapping production on his third album since the show and after the success and strong songwriting featured on his first two, I can honestly say I’m excited for that.

Also busy on the Season 15 front is winner Trent Harmon who just made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry the other night to rave reviews. Hopefully the exposure will lead the talent champ to great things with his first album.
