Fall is officially here and with it comes pumpkin spice lattes, colored foilage and lots and lots of Idol news. The show’s alum have been busy cooking up new music, tour dates, and music videos and with the holiday season just around the corner, there’s plenty of Christmas-related news for those itching for snow!
New Music
Carrie Underwood‘s new album “Cry Pretty” hit shelves this month and is already receiving rave reviews, including her politically charged single “Love Wins,” which received a music video this past month. The singer has also scheduled a spring tour for fans that want to hear her new music live! Underwood also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this past month, so congratulations to her for that!
Last month we announced that Season 10 rocker James Durbin is giving fans a chance to hear his fourth studio album, Homeland, early when they pre-order it on PledgeMusic. Fans can also receive some pretty cool swag with their pre-order. Also from Season 10 is Haley Reinhart, who is releasing a cover of Nina Simone’s classic “My Baby Just Cares For Me” with actor Jeff Goldblum.
Season 8 rocker Allison Iraheta also dropped a music video with her band Halo Circus for their new single “Oh Money“. The song is a scathing rock anthem which comes from their album Robots and Wranglers, released this past March.
Other News
Two Idol alum, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson, are gracing our TV screens again as they team up with Blake Shelton and Adam Levine on Season 15 of The Voice. Kelly will also return for the show’s 16th season, while Jennifer will return to her role on the British version of the show. Clarkson has also been keeping busy, announcing 28 dates for the tour supporting her album Meaning of Life and featuring her Voice winner, Brynn Cartelli, and country singer Kelsea Ballerini.

Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks’ show “State Plate” entered its 3rd season this past month on INSP. You can check out a preview of the first episode here. Also from Season 5 is country singer Kellie Pickler, who is set to start in a holiday movie entitled “Christmas at Graceland” which will premiere on the Hallmark Channel on Nov. 17.
Season 8 winner Kris Allen is also getting in the Christmas spirit with a festive 11-date tour from Nov. 27 until early Dec. 12 where he’ll play some Christmas tunes. Season 7’s David Archuleta also announced a Christmas album and tour this past month, including the single “Christmas Every Day,” which you can hear now.
The People’s Choice Awards are coming up on Nov. 11 and the show snagged two nominations, one for “The Revival Show of 2018″ and one for “The Competition Contestant of 2018” for last season’s winner Maddie Poppe. You can vote on Twitter, by retweeting the tweets sent out by @PeoplesChoice.
